Ingredients
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium Onion, chopped
1kg Ox Heart
2 large Carrots, chopped
1 tbsp Plain Flour
2 Beef Stock Cubes
1L Water
2 tsp Garlic Granules
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
If you can't get, or don't like Ox Heart, you can sub for diced beef
Preparation
Grab a big cast iron pot, add a tablespoon of oil and leave to heat.
Whilst heating, place the Ox Heart cubes in a big bowl, add flour and lightly coat using your hands.
Add the onion to the pan and gently cook until it’s soft and translucent. Add the meat and slowly brown.
When the meat has browned, add the spices, carrots, beef stock and water. Bring to a boil and then leave to simmer with the lid on for 45 minutes.
Whilst the stew is bubbling away and doing it’s thing. Make your sides! We recommend steamed peas, plus some great mashed potatoes.
